The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting fined the radio station “Friday” 327,8 thousand hryvnia for non-compliance with language quotas, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Member of the National Council Sergei Kostinsky reported this on Facebook.
“Radio station “Friday” paid a fine of 327,8 thousand hryvnia, which the National Council imposed for violating quotas regarding songs in the Ukrainian language... I remind you that in the period from 07:00 to 14:00 the share of songs in the state language was 29 % instead of the 30% required by law,” he wrote.
The fine for violating language quotas on radio is 5% of the license fee.
“The fine assessed to Radio Pyatnitsa is the largest for the entire period of the quotas,” Kostitsky noted.
Radio "Friday" is part of the UMH radiogroup.
