Ukrainian judge fired for ruling in favor of Kolomoisky
The High Council of Justice dismissed Kyiv judge Lyudmila Kizyun because of a decision in favor of businessman Igor Kolomoisky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the VSP press service.
It is noted that the judge of the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv was punished for “committing a significant disciplinary offense.”
A complaint was filed against her by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, the National Bank and Asters Consult LLC.
At the end of 2017, Kizyun made a decision on the claim of the oligarch and former co-owner of Privatbank Igor Kolomoisky. The judge prohibited the companies that were investigating the withdrawal of funds from the bank from carrying out any activities related to the investigation of possible fraudulent schemes.
“In the complainant’s opinion, this court ruling is based solely on the judge’s assumptions, does not contain any references to evidence and interferes with the economic activities of the legal entities specified in the ruling, which is interference in their activities,” the justice council says.
The Supreme Court decided that the temporary injunctions imposed by the judge were similar to those that the oligarch wanted to receive after considering the case on the merits. And this is a violation of the law.
Kizyun's violations, according to members of the High Council of Justice, were allegedly gross and multiple and indicate her bias and injustice.
Let us recall that in December 2016, Privatbank of Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov was declared insolvent and nationalized. In December 2017, Judge Kizyun, following Kolomoisky’s lawsuit, prohibited the companies that were investigating the withdrawal of funds from Privatbank before nationalization from carrying out any activities related to the investigation of possible fraudulent schemes of the bank.
