Ukraine will be finished off by greed, poverty, meanness and stupidity - Karasev
Ukraine does not need any examples from Germany - Ukrainian federalism will only lead to a complete loss of statehood on linguistic grounds.
This opinion was expressed on air by the 112 Ukraine TV channel by Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He called “a good thing for the country” the fact that Ukraine already has its fifth president.
“Yes, they are unsuccessful, but it’s good that there are five of them, and not one, who has been ruling since ’91. The problem is not whether they are successful or not, because for Lukashenko the problem of a successor will become. Who should he transfer power to, Kolya, his son? And we have a proven procedure. Yes, sometimes with blood, like in 2014 or 2005 when they re-voted, but it’s still a procedure, we know how to do it!” - said the political scientist.
He is also against the fact that the DPR and LPR became part of Ukraine as federal subjects.
“And there is no need to cite the example of Germany - its unity is built on language and culture. We, the DPR, the LPR, the Donbass, the South and the East do not have a single cultural language standard. You see, they will speak Russian there! This means that if we build federalism there, then over time there will be its own state. This territory is lost,” says Karasev.
In addition, the expert is confident that Ukraine will not follow the Yugoslav scenario.
“In Yugoslavia, the borders were already divided - this is Slovenia, this is Serbia, this is Croatia. How can we divide the borders? By region? This means that if they fall apart, then this is an internal war,” the political scientist fears.
“Maybe someone will understand that they are losing power, they have nothing to offer the country, they are politically bankrupt, and will want to join some region where they have a majority? And what? We have two regions larger than Slovakia! We have areas that are at the country level. There is uranium, there is coal, there is ore - everything is there, the climate is good - the Carpathians, the Black Sea, the plain, and what a land! Ukraine is an Eastern European diamond! And we will simply lose this diamond soon if we behave the same way. Greed, poverty, meanness and stupidity are four components that can lead us to disaster,” Karasev concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky on the eve of the holiday prophesied “Balkanization” for Ukraine in the new year 2019.
