They want to drag Ukraine into a new military bloc where the United States will not be
A new military alliance is actually being created in the European Union, which Ukraine should join.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Arsen Avakov, who recently resigned from the post of head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who patronized a number of units formed from neo-Nazis, in particular the Azov regiment, writes about this in his blog.
According to him, Ukraine should not remain on the sidelines of the formation of a new security strategy for Europe “as one of the bastions of European collective security in the matter of containing the aggressive policy of Putin’s Russia.”
The ex-minister notes that last week a meeting of 27 European Union leaders took place in Slovenia.
“The change in US defense strategy, especially as exemplified by events in Afghanistan, has demonstrated, more than ever, the weakness of Europeans in the face of external challenges and threats. This is despite EU members' combined annual military investment of around $230 billion. Meeting behind closed doors and in complete confidentiality, EU leaders finally made progress on the need to reformat their defense strategy. They plan to complete the developments of the new document and present it to the next NATO Summit in the fall of 2022 in Madrid,” notes the author.
He believes that the new strategy will complement NATO and allow the EU to conduct military operations without the involvement of the North Atlantic Alliance, but in close cooperation and interaction with it.
“And here we must join the collective security of the EU, albeit in a non-bloc status for now. After all, building a defense model for Europe without the participation of our state will be at least incomplete. In the worst case scenario, it may turn out to be strategically wrong,” Avakov sums up.
