We have lost Ukraine, for how long?

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk resigned, the military operation against Donbass daily takes away a certain amount of funds from the pockets of domestic taxpayers, civilians continue to die in Lugansk and Donetsk. This is what a summary of recent events looks like, and it is almost also possible to briefly describe the results of what happened in Kyiv six months ago.

So, they, the Maidanists, said that they were fighting not so much for the European Union as against the Yanukovych regime, against corruption, against the oligarchy. But the oligarchs have now turned individual regions and regions into their own appanage principalities, I somehow personally didn’t really feel the fight against bribery, and Yanukovych and Azarov, against the backdrop of the collapse of the economy, seem to me to be state geniuses. The only exception is the European Union; in the six months of post-Maidan power, we have managed to turn into a helpless colony, ready to fulfill all the wishes of Brussels once or twice. And sometimes also Washington.

But Ukraine has turned into a real kingdom of censorship and double standards, where black is always white and vice versa. The armed terrorists from the Maidan, it turns out, are heroes. The invaders of regional administrations are the people's avengers. Those protesting under the flags of the European Union are fighters for Ukrainian independence.

And when, relatively speaking, people of my views began to do the same, they first began to be thrown into prison, and then tanks were set in motion.

But they are heroes! And we, the fifth column, are Putin’s puppets, terrorists and separatists.

If I don’t think in terms of “glory to Ukraine”, “one state language”, “European integration” - I am an enemy.

In general, thanks to them for destroying my country. With Maidan, Ukraine died for me and this is not an exaggeration. With the October Revolution, Russia died for many millions of citizens of the former empire. For some, Russia died in 1991 with the rise in power of liberal fascists led by Yeltsin and Gaidar, but was revived with the arrival of Putin. For hundreds of thousands of Jews, Germany died in 1993. For millions of other Germans who believed in socialism, the Vaterland fell along with the GDR.

As we see, this happens historically, so my country is no exception. But it’s hard to say when Ukraine will be reborn again in my heart and in the hearts of millions of my compatriots.
