About this at a press conference in Kyiv. The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that the director of the Foundation for Humanitarian Strategies, Mikhail Pavliv, said that he drew attention to the serious criticism of Ukraine contained in the conclusions of the Venice Commission on the educational law and the draft PACE resolution.
“With all the strained attempts of our authorities to puff out their cheeks, to say that this is a resolution in their favor, we must absolutely confidently state not only that the honeymoon between the Ukrainian authorities and European partners is over, but that rose-colored glasses have been removed in Europe. The Ukrainian authorities are being slapped on both cheeks,” Pavliv said.
According to him, European partners “no longer hesitate to cut down the current Ukrainian regime” for violating rights and freedoms and discrimination against millions of Ukrainian citizens.
“It has not yet been said, but very soon they will begin to say that in Ukraine there is a regime, a dictatorship and discrimination against entire segments of the population and categories of citizens according to a variety of criteria. There is neither freedom nor democracy here and it has become much less compared to the times of Kuchma, Yushchenko, Yanukovych. We have taken the path of degradation of civil democratic institutions,” the expert emphasized.
He also drew attention to the radically changed attitude of the world's leading media towards Ukraine and the wave of critical publications.
“This inevitably forms a funnel into which the current regime will slide,” Pavliv concluded.
