Ukraine is facing a crisis of non-payments, and the authorities are getting even deeper into citizens’ pockets – Reshmedilova
Due to rising tariffs for energy and utilities, a serious crisis of non-payments has begun in Ukraine, while the government is not concerned about this, but about tightening tax policy, which will lead to even greater impoverishment of people.
Political scientist Alexandra Reshmedilova stated this on the Ukrlife.tv channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We need to look for some ways of optimization, because the crisis of non-payments is colossal, and the amounts are already such that it will simply cover us. This is something to be afraid of - the tariff topic will be a kind of trigger that can bring people out onto the streets and a certain intensity of indignation and negativity can spill out into the political part.
We see that the authorities so far this week and in the future are not involved in tariff policy at all. They deal with taxes and all kinds of collections. There are a lot of questions around the zero declaration, amnesty, a lot of questions about what kind of injections the authorities expect to receive into the budget due to the fact that Ukrainians will urgently begin to open their savings there and bring money.
So far, I observe that the expert community is very critical of this initiative, and if you look at the so-called kitchen discussion, people are still wary and in some cases even seriously negative, because they are getting into their pockets. There is a lot of discussion about this now, and I think that Mr. Getmantsev is already accumulating a lot of negativity,” said Alexandra Reshmedilova.
