Ukraine is covered by a wave of medieval epidemics
In Ukraine, the number of children suffering from tuberculosis is rapidly increasing, a third of whom have a severe form, writes the Kiev magazine “Correspondent”.

“In 2015, the number of children with tuberculosis increased by 16 percent,” the publication notes. “If the situation is not corrected, in 5-6 years our country will be covered by a wave of the disease.”
“Firstly, the system for early diagnosis of tuberculosis has been destroyed in Ukraine,” one of the doctors explains to the publication the reasons for the growth of the disease in the country. – In common parlance it was called the Mantoux test. The fact is that for several years now we have had a deficiency of tuberculin (the drug administered during the Mantoux test). And there are 2-2,5 times fewer children being injected. But it is precisely such measures that make it possible to identify children with an early stage of the disease who are still easily treatable. As a result, now about a third of sick children have a severe form. At the same time, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine proposes to completely abolish mass tuberculin diagnostics.
This is despite the fact that our incidence rate is many times higher than in Europe. I don’t know what they are thinking about there in the ministry. After all, it is absolutely obvious that after this the increase in incidence will be even higher. Secondly, there are no vaccines against tuberculosis in our maternity hospitals. And some parents refuse it. Others search on their own in private clinics. Although they don’t always find it.”
A catastrophic situation is developing in the country with vaccinations.
“In Soviet times, we were terribly scolded if the number of unvaccinated children exceeded 6%,” neonatologist Natalya Muravyova told the magazine. – And now in some regions 15% of 100% are vaccinated. I note that there have always been complications after vaccination. But the disease is much worse. Because of what is happening, Ukraine is sliding into the Middle Ages. Our children are dying from whooping cough.”
At the same time, it is difficult to assess the real scale of the disaster, since there are manipulations with statistics.
“These deaths are attributed to pneumonia, even if there was measles,” explains M. Uravyeva. - Why? Probably so as not to solve the problem. It’s easier this way... And everyone is to blame: doctors, officials, and parents. Why doesn’t anyone talk about the fact that if the mother of five-year-old Nadya, who ended up in the hospital because of tetanus, had vaccinated her on time, the girl would have been healthy?”
