The law adopted by the Rada, which introduces the institution of private debt collectors in Ukraine, could cause a massive revolt of the population, experts warn.

Thus, at a press conference in Kyiv, former Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Aleksey Kucherenko drew attention to the fact that the adopted law allows not only to take away apartments, but also to confiscate the property located in them.
“This is a psychic attack. In January, there was a video on Facebook of the head of the Dnepropetrovsk heating and utilities company, when he said in front of the cameras: “We have already taken 36 apartments. We will break down doors, take away televisions, property, and so on.” And I understand how many heart attacks people got after that. And all in order to exert psychological pressure,” Kucherenko noted.
In turn, the head of the public organization “Public Audit” Maxim Goldarb said that this kind of actions by collectors can only continue until “until someone first flies out of the apartment window.”
“We all come from the USSR, where the fixed idea of every normal person is to have their own home. You have your own home, which means you have achieved something, you were able to do something. And now some murka with a private contractor’s badge will come to people with such an upbringing and will tell the person that he will take the only apartment, that he will have nowhere to live. I am sincerely worried about this newcomer, since a person can act extremely emotionally. It remains to be seen how it will end and what the precedent will be. As soon as one such precedent appears, there will be a wave,” Goldarb warned
