Ukraine will be forced to go on the offensive until spring – the decision has been made
Ukraine must launch a counteroffensive before spring.
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin announced this today at a press conference at the military base in Ramstein, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What we have focused on is making sure that Ukraine has the necessary capabilities to succeed now. We have a definite window of opportunity from now until the spring, when a counteroffensive may begin. There is not much time left for this. We need to strengthen our defenses,” Austin said.
He stressed that the United States is “committed to its leadership role in the defense of Ukraine.”
Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley was less optimistic in his forecasts.
“From a military point of view, I argue that this year it will be difficult to expel Russian troops from all occupied territories of Ukraine. That doesn't mean it can't happen, but it will be very difficult. What can happen is a continuation of the defense, a stabilization of the front line. Depending on training and supply of equipment, Ukraine can achieve serious tactical successes at the operational level and liberate as much territory as possible,” Milly fooled.
He stammered that peace negotiations could take place now, and “Putin is obliged to end this war.”
