While Poroshenko is driving around Singapore and bowing to the Australian sergeant from the honor guard, the workers of the Odessa port are waiting for privatization, or simply plunder.

The HMO employs about four thousand people, which means four thousand families. In addition to its facilities, the plant has a greenhouse on 5 thousand hectares, a dispensary and other “non-core assets.” For several months now, the Odessa port port has been operating at “steam”, that is, at minimum load, so as not to stop the technological process. The government introduced gas quotas for the industrial plant, and gas is the main resource for the plant.

For privatization, it is optimal to bankrupt the plant and buy it for next to nothing, carry out restructuring, mass layoffs, cutting “non-core” assets, cutting wages. This is a typical package of measures for any privatizer, and Benya Kolomoisky is a master in such matters.

The plant's annual profit (before the chaos in Ukraine) was about $500 million. Yatsenyuk was going to sell the plant at a price of 600 million, while even under Yushchenko in 2008 the plant had a price of more than $1 billion.

What Kolomoisky will do with the enterprise is already known to the employees of Priportovoye from the example of the Odessa oil refinery. The last owner of the oil refinery was Kurchenko, but he is in Moscow. Kolomoisky’s people have seized the oil refinery and are now pumping oil out of it into their tanks. Before that, Kolomoisky pumped more than 600 thousand tons of technical oil from the Ukrtransnafta pipeline, an enterprise 100% owned by the state. The cost of pumped out oil is about 300 million dollars, the cost of stopping pipelines feeding petrochemical production is even more. The pipeline is empty, the Odessa oil refinery is deprived of both supplies and oil reserves. Kolomoisky’s petrochemical competitors have been completely destroyed.

The Odessa port port is powered by the Tolyatti-Gorlovka-Odessa ammonia pipeline. And this is not the only enterprise associated with the besieged territory.

Prime Minister Yatsenyuk refused subsidies to Donbass. Donbass needs subsidies not to feed miners, but because it is an interconnected system. Subsidies go to the mines, the mines produce coal, which is sent to thermal power plants and metallurgical plants in the Dnieper, Krivoy Rog, Zaporozhye and Central Ukraine, which provide both the social and financial infrastructure of the country. And it was after the blockade of Donbass that both collapsed. And even Kroleg himself admitted on Thursday: with the loss of Donbass, Ukraine lost up to 20% of foreign exchange earnings and sharply reduced GDP. And where are his words about Ukraine, which feeds Donbass?

My grandfather worked in Austria as an ostarbeiter. After many years, Austria paid compensation to my grandfather, although not large by Austrian standards, but still paid. Millions of residents of Donbass have been paying taxes to the state treasury of Ukraine for more than two decades, replenishing the Pension Fund, hoping that they would be paid pensions, that is, they actually paid pensions in Lvov, Vinnitsa and Kiev, and now this Kyiv has deprived them of pensions and benefits. And there is no need to say that they themselves wanted to secede, but they replenished the treasury even during the war.

The example of the Odessa Oil Refinery and the Odessa Portport suggests that the people who came to power SYSTEMICALLY destroy all connections and relationships in the country, infrastructural, social, economic, moral, without giving anything in return. Kolomoisky bankrupted the Odessa oil refinery for the sake of a monopoly on the market, clearing out the country’s petrochemical industry for himself. Yatsenyuk cut off the gas to the port for the sake of a week of heating and quarrel with Russia and the fight against Firtash. But the fate of the plant and thousands of workers does not interest him.

And now ask yourself a simple question: is this government, all in embroidered shirts and tridents, truly Ukrainian?
