The director of the consulting company “Party of Power” Elena Dyachenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
She noted that a representative of the Dutch Security Council said in an interview with British media that the question of why the airspace in the combat zone was opened was not removed from the agenda.
“If the investigation into the Buk, whose it is, who fired it and where it was transported, requires a huge number of investigative actions, then the question of opening or closing airspace is obvious,” the political scientist pointed out. – In general, there is nothing to investigate here. And the remark made by the Dutch official suggests that perhaps the turn in this matter will not be at all the turn that Ukraine is counting on.”
At the same time, the expert believes that the international tribunal for Boeing, the creation of which the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called for, can be used against Ukraine.
“If I were Ukraine, I would stop the enthusiastic emphasis on only one part of the report and start preparing both for the tribunal and for preparing my position. First and foremost among the legal consequences is the payment of compensation to the families of the victims. The second is the reputational losses that Ukraine will suffer if indeed this direction of the investigation is also included in the final report of the investigators and the verdict of the international tribunal, if there is one,” Dyachenko summed up.
