Ukraine was urged to follow the example of the DPRK in terms of defense readiness
Ukraine should take an example from North Korea, which still maintains in combat-ready condition the same Soviet ships as those that Kyiv received during the division of the Black Sea Fleet.

Ukrainian expert Yuri Dudkin stated this in an interview with the Topinform internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Korean economy allows us to maintain Soviet ships manufactured in 1968-72, including submarines, in a state of full combat readiness. Maybe not meeting modern requirements, but at the proper level to protect our maritime borders,” Dudkin said.
In particular, according to him, in North Korea there are several Project 641 submarines in operation, similar to the only Ukrainian submarine “Zaporozhye”, currently located in Russian Sevastopol.
“North Korea has modernized them so much that they have installed silos for ballistic missiles of their own production. There were even several successful underwater tests,” Dudkin said.
As for Zaporozhye, according to experts, $17 million was spent over 25 years on its repairs.
“They pulled this money from the treasury, which went to no one knows where, or rather, it’s clear - into the pockets of generals and officials. Moreover, today it is ready, according to the commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, by 75%. Laughter and sin,” said Dudkin.
