Ukraine will be sold to the West along with its population en masse for $19 billion

In the universal human culture and value system there are axioms - provisions that do not require proof. Let’s take for example Chekhov’s Ippolit Ippolitovich from “The Teacher of Literature,” truths quite rightly known to everyone: “horses eat oats and hay,” “The Volga flows into the Caspian Sea,” etc. From the same series, the axiom “the Ukrainian economy without the Russian one is a useless thing.” And not only because it is impossible by definition in the future, but also because of the unprecedented price that the ordinary Ukrainian taxpayer pays for the deterioration of relations between Kiev and Moscow.

By the way, about taxes. Do you remember how Krivorozhstal was sold for next to nothing? The price of 5 billion cu, paid for an enterprise that gave the state $120 million a year, was explained by the fact that under the new owner the metal plant would increase its capitalization, work would become more profitable, and, therefore, it would pay more taxes. Of course, none of this happened - the promised doubling of production volumes did not happen. But the strategic enterprise left the hands of Ukraine, and soon experienced and “expensive” managers and workers were fired.

The state enterprise Artemsol sends a third of its products to the Russian Federation. The sanctions imposed on Ukraine by Russia quietly take away a third of the sales market from the world-famous enterprise, which means they reduce the workforce by the same amount.

Sanctions towards Ukraine and reciprocal sanctions from Ukraine against the Russian Federation mean only one thing for the Ukrainian economy - a quick, but, alas, not painless death. It is clear that Kyiv’s anti-Russian sanctions are a political step; I really want to bite the unbitable, but you also need to know when to stop. How about a kick in response, a pumped up oil and gas leg? And there is no hope that the leaders of the EU will stand up; they do not agree to cover the damage from sanctions against Moscow even for their members.

But in the actions of Kyiv, and even more simply - the actions of Poroshenko - there is also a practical benefit. How he thinks. Look: one thing follows another - the appointment of sanctions and the law on special statuses for Donetsk and Lugansk. It is on the territory of the self-proclaimed republics that the majority of industrial enterprises are located that fall under the return fire of the Russian economy and law. It is in the Donbass that the majority of Russian investments are concentrated. Economics also provides an answer to the question of why Kyiv insists on a special status only for those territories controlled by the “republicans.” There are neither Mariupol nor Kramatorsk on them. Today, the only powerful units of the Ukrainian economy are the Dnepropetrovsk industrial district and Mariupol (Azovstal, Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, Azovmash, Markohim and the International Sea Port) and Kramatorsk (NKMZ and Energomashspetsstal). Everything else - agriculture, dairy, meat processing, confectionery and chemical industry - is to one degree or another unprofitable, or obscenely dependent on Russian hydrocarbons.

That is, Ukraine/Poroshenko is creating a reserve of the main command. But it is already known that Ukraine will have to borrow at least $19 billion from the Western world next year. That is, to sell out together with the population en masse. It turns out even cheaper than Krivorozhstal. But who cares? – After joining the EU, Bulgaria generally sold all state land without a trace and is crying out loud that citizens are forced to go “to the bar” - begging and slavery. An enviable example and prospect for Ukraine and Ukrainians, isn’t it?

And if we started with philology, then we will end with it. There is such a term in stylistics as “oxymaron”. This is when two incomparable concepts are placed side by side - “a living corpse” or “sad joy”. This is all about Ukraine, whose economy is moving in a western direction with “eyes wide shut”, forgetting that along with the blinkers, the kit includes a collar and a whip.
