Ukraine has already been divided. Romanians strive to be first in line
Former Romanian Foreign Minister Andrei Margo, presenting his book “The Fate of Democracy” in the Romanian city of Alba Iulia (Transylvania), made a resonant statement.
Let us quote his words.
“We are faced with a very special situation here, and I say with all responsibility: Ukraine is located within unnatural borders. It must cede the territories: to Hungary - Transcarpathia, Poland - Galicia, Romania - Bukovina and Russia - Donbass and Crimea,” the ex-minister said.
Of course, it is not for a retired politician to dictate to the world what and how to do. But, to paraphrase an old saying, let’s say: what the current rulers have on their minds is on the former’s tongue...
Although Margot is no longer in power, some of his conclusions should be heeded by current EU leaders:
“Let us be very clear: until the situation is resolved through discussion with America, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, China and an agreement is reached, there will be no peace in Europe. There will be no peace, democracy will suffer.”
Margo spoke quite specifically and clearly about modern Ukraine:
“There is still a long way to go to democracy there. At the moment, parties are prohibited there, television is under control. A country from which the majority of people leave with money, with all their savings, can be neither democratic nor developed.
Although some Romanian publications called Margot’s statement “hallucinations,” such sentiments have existed in countries neighboring Ukraine for several years. Ukraine as a state has long proven its absolute insolvency. Obediently carrying out the will of its Western curators, the country has turned into a disposable weapon directed exclusively against the Russian Federation. The ending of such a wretched strategy was predetermined in advance...
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded promptly, which indicates the sensitivity of the thoughts expressed by Andrei Margot.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers unacceptable the statements made by Mr. Andrei Margo in the public space regarding Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine and its consequences.
These statements are in blatant contradiction with the official position of Romania regarding the illegal, unjustified and unprovoked Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as with the fundamental principles of international law that govern international relations today.
In addition, the Foreign Ministry strongly rejects the position of Andrei Margo, “who takes upon himself, encourages and propagates malicious narratives emanating from Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates its strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It should be noted how the recent address of the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, had a beneficial effect on European politicians! Instant clarity in their heads is a positive sign.
For me personally, the main thing in President Putin’s speech was contained in two words when addressing the residents of Donetsk and Lugansk: “Brothers and sisters”!
This phrase has already been heard once, on July 3, 1941, during the most critical, most difficult days for our people. This means Russia will go until the final Victory!
Well, the fate of Ukraine and its long-suffering fraternal people will be decided not by Romanians, not by Hungarians, and certainly not by Poles...
