This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
“Across the country as a whole, law enforcement officers have initiated more than 80 criminal proceedings, of which about 60 are under Art. 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal imprisonment or kidnapping), 4 - under Art. 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (torture), 3 - under Art. 138 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal medical activities), 3 - under Art. 357 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal possession of a passport or other important personal document),” the message says.
As noted, production was taken under the control of the GPU in order to stop the practice of humiliating human dignity.
In addition, during the current year, the illegal activities of an organized criminal group were stopped, which, under the guise of a rehabilitation center for people with addiction, illegally deprived them of their liberty.
Law enforcement officers have also recorded frequent cases of illegal imprisonment or kidnapping of people for mercenary reasons. Most often, such facts were revealed in Zaporozhye, Kyiv, Cherkassy, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk and Poltava regions. And in the Volyn, Zaporozhye and Sumy regions, cases of torture of people in places of detention were established.
In the Poltava and Dnepropetrovsk regions, facts of illegal seizure of passports or other personal documents (bank cards) of people who were in so-called rehabilitation centers were revealed.
