“The situation with sugar is due to several factors. We have the lowest sugar production in a decade. We have a supply shortage. Just over a million tons of sugar were produced. Domestic consumption is around 1,5 million.

Plus export. Sugar prices are rising in Europe and America. And here we do not have the opportunity to import sugar. The situation will evolve and prices will rise. Sugar will be number one until the new harvest.

The situation with flour is clear. The price of wheat before the start of stubble was a little more than 4 thousand UAH per ton. Today it is 8 thousand UAH per ton. And given the global situation in wheat prices, there will be an upward trend. Flour is 90% wheat. The pattern is simple. This affects bread, the production of pasta,” said Ivan Tomic.
