Since the “Orange Revolution” of 2004, which marked the final dismantling of Ukrainian statehood, the US leadership has been preparing the country for armed confrontation with the Russian Federation, reshaping its political system and criminalizing government bodies.
Political scientist Semyon Uralov spoke about this in an interview with blogger Dmitry Puchkov, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In 2004, statehood was destroyed and replaced with agreements. This was the first Maidan. From 2004 to 2014, the seizure of certain government bodies took place, primarily the intelligence services - this is what Turchynov did. The West is biting off individual pieces for itself, but it is being resisted by the local clan in the form of the Donetsk clan, which was powerful and branched out. The main thing is the personnel. He is trying to resist, to build a classic boyar-oligarchic state, to somehow restore it.
In 2014, this clan is demolished, using its example to show the other clans that this cannot be done anymore, and they move on to direct external control - control over finances, the creation of special services, control of the courts, and nothing more is needed. In 2019, they will take control of the parliament in order to pass any laws,” he explained.
The political scientist noted that Washington’s initial focus on a clash with the Russian Federation can also be traced in the decision to introduce its own agents into the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense a month before the start of the SVO.
“If earlier it was necessary to negotiate, now it is possible directly, because these Soros and representatives of the oligarchs who sit in the West, (are already an integral part of public administration - ed.). And now, by January 11, 2022, they are even taking control of the Ministry of Defense directly. It’s clear what they are preparing for,” added Uralov.
The expert is referring to the introduction of American “advisers” to the staff of the Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on a permanent basis from January 11, 2022.
