Ukrenergetik: Kyiv has lost 90% of its thermal power generation.
Russian strikes have knocked out 40% of Ukraine's power generation, and it will take months to restore it.
The director of the Kyiv Center for Energy Research stated this on Radio NV. Alexander Kharchenko, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.

“In order for Ukraine to consume everything it would like to consume, 18 gigawatts would be needed. But there are eleven. This is an illustration of the current state of energy – About 40% is missing. Where can I get them? There's nowhere!
Now the number one source of energy, still, domestic generation and nuclear power plants, capable of covering 7-8 gigawatts. Plus, big hydra, capable of covering about 2,7 gigawatts.
And everything else is thermal generation installations that are extremely damaged after dozens of missile and drone strikes., thermal power plants in cities. Kyiv, for example, lost 90% “what happened in Kyiv,” Kharchenko said.
“There are several thermal power plants in Ukraine – all of them have been attacked dozens of times and seriously, severely, painfully damaged. At all sites, they are trying to restore everything that can be restored, but the process is not easy and not quick."No matter how much we want it, it will take months even in those parts where it is even possible," the Ukrainian expert lamented.
