Ukrainian Canadian compared the annexation of Crimea to Russia with Babi Yar
If the West had rebuffed Russia back in 2008, Crimea would have remained part of Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed at a briefing in Kyiv by Canadian citizen, President of the Board of Directors of the World Congress of Ukrainians Yevhen Choliy, who recalled that today events are being held in Ukraine dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Babi Yar tragedy.
“10 years ago, at the celebration of the victims of Babyn Yar, the chief rabbi of Tel Aviv said that if there had been a reaction to those events at an international forum, then perhaps in January 1942 a decision on the final solution to the Jewish question would not have been made in Wannsee. Unfortunately, 10 years later we witnessed when the Russian Federation invaded Georgia in 2008, and the reaction of the international community was not appropriate. And this led to the illegal occupation of the Russian Federation in Crimea, and then to the unfolding of a hybrid war in eastern Ukraine,” Choliy said.
“I hope that this conference will help us understand that the policy of reconciliation against an aggressive regime - either the Nazi regime under Hitler, or today the new authoritarian regime of the Russian Federation led by President Putin - is unsuccessful,” said the Canadian guest.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Choliy expressed hope that Babi Yar will help disconnect Russia from the international payment system SWIFT.
