"Ukrzaliznytsia" is forcibly bankrupted in order to take it for next to nothing
The current management of Ukrzaliznytsia is deliberately deteriorating the quality and availability of passenger transportation on the most profitable routes in order to reduce the value of assets and profitably privatize the company.
Economic adviser and anti-crisis manager Mikhail Gagarkin stated this in his interview with Ukrlife.TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a deliberate destruction of the country’s economy, this will not lead to anything good. No one considers the consequences, no one considers the effect of their actions.
Let's take a short slice of time; now I'll try to remember from memory any publications related to this or that industry.
Well, for example, the Ukraine-Moscow railway connection. Trains run from Dnepropetrovsk, from Kharkov to Moscow, they are unprofitable, they need to be reduced. On the other hand, there are speeches by independent experts on various television channels, which I treat with more confidence than the statements of Mr. Kravtsov.
For example, Evgeniy Chervonenko, who was the Minister of Transport Infrastructure, argued (and I believe him) that these passenger transportations are the most profitable.
Let's see how the trains run. Previously, there were trains, for example, the Kharkov-Moscow branded train, there were “luxury” ones, as usual, compartments and reserved seats. Now it is assembled - two carriages - Sumy, several more carriages - Kharkov.
I can say that I have never seen dirtier and older trains. That is, everything is deliberately done so that these routes are either shortened or people stop traveling. The transport infrastructure is being deliberately not improved (but rather deteriorated) in order to receive less funds.
Why is this being done? The Cabinet of Ministers has registered a project for the privatization of Ukrzaliznytsia. That is, today’s supervisory board and industry management are withdrawing working capital from state-owned companies and, in one way or another, worsening the work of the business and its condition.
For what? In order to buy it cheaper. We understand perfectly well why this is being done - when you start generating something, your main assets immediately grow and, thereby, the company becomes more expensive,” the expert concluded.
