Today at 11:45 am, at the age of 82, the outstanding Ukrainian poet, public figure and politician Boris Oliynyk died after a serious and long illness.

Journalist Mikhail Masliy reported this on his Facebook page.
“On April 30, at 11:45 a.m., at the age of 82, after a serious and long illness, the legendary Ukrainian poet Boris Oliynyk died ... the Kingdom of Heaven ...,” he wrote.
The journalist noted that “with his active civic position, Boris Oliynyk proved that the poet is responsible for everything that happened before him, what happens during his life and what will happen after him. Poetry is his first love, journalism is his second, and he began to engage in politics “out of grief.”
The poet’s work includes more than fifty songs in collaboration with famous composers of the country.
Information about the death of Boris Oleinik was confirmed in the poet’s close circle.
Let us remember that Boris Oliynyk was a people's deputy of the USSR and criticized the course of Mikhail Gorbachev. Then he became involved in active politics in Ukraine, was a people's deputy of many convocations from the Communist Party of Ukraine, and the head of the Ukrainian Peace Foundation.
