The ex-commander of the Ukrainian Navy, who took part in the division of the Black Sea Fleet, has died
Today, January 23, at the age of 73, Vice Admiral Vladimir Bezkorovayny, who in 1993-1996 served as Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, died.

“Vice Admiral Vladimir Bezkorovayny headed the Russian Navy in 1993. Under his command, warships were taken over during the division of the Black Sea Fleet of the former USSR, the marine infantry and naval aviation of Ukraine, educational institutions and comprehensive support units were formed,” the statement says.
It is reported that in 1993, under his leadership, the operational-tactical exercises “Sea-96” and the transatlantic voyage of a detachment of Ukrainian warships with a unit of marines to the shores of the United States took place.
