The Rukhovets writer, who promised to breathe Lenin until his last breath, has died
During today's meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, Speaker Andriy Parubiy announced the death of the prominent Ukrainian writer Ivan Drach, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today Ivan Fedorovich Drach, a poet, playwright, translator, public and statesman, hero of Ukraine, passed away. I ask the entire hall to take a minute of silence to honor the memory of the hero of Ukraine,” Parubiy said.
Let us note that the Soviet and Ukrainian writer, deputy of the Rada of the first convocations and one of the founders of the nationalist party “People's Movement of Ukraine” Ivan Drach praised Lenin and the CPSU in Soviet times.
“Vira is a thing. Everything else is aphids.
I'm dying Lenin until I die...
The land froze on its feet
In front of a great feat,” Drach wrote in the poem “I Breathe with Lenin” in 1965.
He died at the eighty-second year of his life.
