Dying because of language: now a real prospect has opened up in Ukraine
In Ukraine, you can die if you cannot ask a doctor for help in the state language.
The host of the talk show “Time will tell” Ekaterina Strizhenova stated this on the First TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter made this statement in the context of discussing the adoption of a language law in Ukraine, according to which in the service sector it is necessary to use exclusively the state language - Ukrainian.
“Imagine, before resuscitation, you ask a doctor for help. What language will you do this in? I didn't call a translator. You understand that this even sounds like absurdity,” Strizhenova was indignant.
Ukrainian political scientist Sergei Zaporozhsky responded to the remark.
“This does not exist in Ukraine. You know that the law on language in Ukraine has been adopted. To be honest, I don’t quite understand what kind of bill this person from “Self-Help” is. This will not be accepted, this is 100%,” the expert believes.
Let us recall that PolitNavigator previously reported that Ukrainian deputies, after a lengthy consideration, adopted the discriminatory law 5670-D as a basis “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language”
