Umerov: boycott of Russian elections in Crimea failed
The plans of the Mejlis members to boycott the presidential elections of the Russian Federation in Crimea failed - Crimean Tatars, although not in the majority, visited the polling stations.
Chairman of the national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars Eyvaz Umerov stated this on the air of the Crimean Consensus talk show, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, more than 40% of the Crimean Tatars, despite the Ukrainian agitation, still made their choice on March 18th.
“Crimean Tatars did not ignore the elections. This is the hysteria that is happening now on Ukrainian TV channels; in principle, I am grateful to them. Because Chiygoz, Aider Muzhdabaev, Lenur Islyamov are loudly trumpeting that not a single Crimean Tatar came to the polls. We, being here in Crimea, know that the Crimean Tatars, more than 40 percent who went to the polls, know that they were in the elections and looking at the APR so far, they clearly compare what they say there and what is happening here . And they understand that these people, just as they lied in Ukraine, are lying now, being there,” Umerov said.
