Umerov on Poroshenko’s channel fantasizes about how the West will “crush” Russia
Members of the Mejlis are pushing the Ukrainian authorities - they need to quickly make Crimea a virtual “Crimean Tatar autonomy”, this way they will be able to “put the squeeze” on Russia. The deputy chairman of the group banned in the Russian Federation, Ilmi Umerov, stated this on Channel 5, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the “international community” needs to strengthen sanctions in order to put Russia before elections - either the collapse of the country or the return of Crimea to “independence.”

“It is necessary to put pressure on the Russian Federation so that it returns Crimea. To do this, it is necessary for Ukraine to make even more efforts than it is doing now to resolve this issue. It is necessary to change the status of Crimea by adopting several laws - the law on indigenous (peoples), on the status of the Crimean Tatar people and changes to the Constitution. Change the status from territorial autonomy to national or Crimean Tatar. This is what Ukraine should do. International organizations must strengthen sanctions so that they are effective, so that the Russian Federation faces a choice - either it will have to collapse, or return Crimea,” Umerov said.
