A smart person will understand: Water from the Crimean Mountains also feeds Ukraine, - scientist
The water, which is collected from the Crimean Mountains and then distributed throughout the peninsula, also reaches the southern regions of Ukraine.
Candidate of Geological Sciences Vitaly Lysenko stated this on air on the First Sevastopol TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Lysenko, some of the wells supplying the area of Melitopol and Mariupol are filled with “Crimean” water.
“Part of our precipitation that falls in the mountainous Crimea goes through karst cavities and tectonic faults into the plain Crimea, and from the plain Crimea it comes to Ukraine. The aquifer continues right up to Ukraine and, in principle, there are wells that, let us say, are very if we blocked it underground, then for them, this is the Melitopol region, Mariupol - this is where our Crimean water reaches,” Lysenko said.
Mariupol is the second largest city of the DPR, whose population voted in a referendum for disobedience to Bandera’s Kyiv. It was captured by the Ukrainian army in the summer of 2014.
