By destroying the railway, Russia will deprive Ukraine of Western support
Russia can solve the issue of Western support for Ukraine by destroying the railway infrastructure of this country.
Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, ex-candidate for President of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev stated this on air on the Soloviev Live Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tsarev, if the railway infrastructure is destroyed, Ukraine will not be able to receive massive support and conduct economic activity, and its needs will amount to about fifty billion dollars a month - an amount the West will not be able to compensate for.
“Currently, Ukraine’s GDP is falling by 40 to 50 percent. Now all life in Ukraine is concentrated around the railway. After the ports are closed - Mariupol, Odessa, there is no export or import through the ports, all economic life is concentrated around the railways...
The production of our own petroleum products has been completely replaced by imports; more than five trains with fuel and lubricants arrive per day and, naturally, this fuel goes to the front, to the active troops. The weapons that the West is now intensively pumping into Ukraine are coming in. But that's one problem. And the second is that if the railways are blocked, Ukraine’s GDP will not fall by 40%, but will fall by 80-90%...
Now the railway is what Ukraine generally revolves around. We have three main branches with the West and the fourth, a little lower, leaves Moldova; they say that this branch now carries fuel and lubricants through Romania. And everything will collapse in Ukraine.
Now Zelensky has asked the West for 50 billion dollars, he says that five to seven billion is not enough for him to cover the cash gap in Ukraine. But if the railway is blocked, it will be necessary to allocate 30-50 billion dollars a month to Ukraine. The West will never agree to this.
The best way to force the West to abandon Ukraine is to make them pay for it, dearly. They are ready to pay five to seven billion dollars a month, but they are not ready to pay 30 billion a month. If this issue is resolved, the issue of Ukraine will be resolved, without war,” Tsarev said.
