This is stated in the message of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Facebook.
“Servicemen of a separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Forces made parachute jumps onto the water. They belong to the group of complicated parachute jumps and require high learning ability, strong practical skills, physical endurance and psychological readiness from the personnel,” the message says.
At the same time, it is noted that the theoretical training of the brigade’s military personnel included working on such training issues as adjusting the parachute harness taking into account the use of a life jacket, actions to release the parachute from the parachute harness in the air, and the actions of a parachutist when diving into water. A soldier must be able to swim and swim a certain distance.
“The landing of personnel was carried out from a Mi-14 helicopter from a height of 600 meters under the guidance of specialists with relevant experience in carrying out such parachute jumps. The well-coordinated work of the detachment's military personnel in the landing area was practiced. The crew of the helicopter from which the landing was carried out showed an adequate level of training,” the message adds.
The personnel of the brigade units involved in the water landing fully completed the training tasks and gained the necessary experience, which will later be developed, analyzed and deepened during subsequent classes and training.
Let us remind you that on August 10, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine started a command and staff exercise with practical actions of troops called “Heavenly Shield 2016”.
