This opinion was expressed on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne by General of the Ukrainian Army, ex-commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, former head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Alexander Kikhtenko, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Biometric control will not give anything positive today. It is impossible to say that in this way we protect our territory from Russia. There are 70 countries on this list, of which only three are CIS countries,” Kikhtenko said.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 22,5 thousand people have already undergone biometric control; these are citizens of 70 countries, including 15 thousand Russian citizens.
“There will be a corresponding reaction from Russia. What it will be like must have been calculated by the people who made such a decision. I think it will lead to greater complications for Ukrainian citizens. It’s no secret how many people work in Russia today, because there is nowhere to work here,” Kikhtenko said.
