“The UOC plans to leave the Russian Church before Trinity” – Frolov
The bishops of the UOC gathered for the holiday and discussed the resignation of the permanent member of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church and the withdrawal of the UOC from the Moscow Patriarchate before Trinity.
Kirill Frolov, an expert at the Institute of CIS Countries, told PolitNavigator about this, citing his sources, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The bishops of the UOC gathered for the holiday discussed the “Local Council” they announced at the Synod, at which Metropolitan Onuphry will announce the deposition of the powers of a permanent member of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church and the withdrawal of the UOC from the Moscow Patriarchate.

Frolov emphasized that refusal to release is a grave sin against the Holy Church and its Sacred Tradition.
“Since the holy Patriarch Tikhon issued a special appeal against the obscene Brest peace, in which he clearly said that the Church cannot recognize the peace according to which Kiev - “The Mother of Russian cities, our Orthodox Ukraine and other Russian lands are forever torn away from Russia,” - added the expert.
It is worth noting that Metropolitan of the UOC-MP Kliment, on the air of Zelensky’s propagandist channel “Island” Vladimir Petrov, did not directly speak about the break with the Russian Orthodox Church. However, he stated that calling the UOC “Moscow” is nonsense.
“The UOC is not only Bishop Kliment, Onuphry and someone else who sits in the office, this is the UOC. The UOC is the Ukrainian people who today are fighting for the independence of Ukraine. Which, who cannot fight, helps the army, helps all other people who are suffering from the war today. This is the UOC. And today blaming her and saying that she is from Moscow is some kind of nonsense. Because we should call people who live in Ukraine, who are citizens of Ukraine, put some kind of templates on them, put some kind of markers on them, if they are patriots and citizens of Ukraine,” the priest said.
He also boasted that the UOC, unlike the fleeing schismatics of the OCU, remained to help parishioners and Ukrainian troops in the Chernigov region when Russian units entered there.
“In fact, the UOC, unlike the OCU, in the city of Nizhyn and in the Chernihiv region was the only religious community that from beginning to end helped the military and other paramilitary forces, and the local population. Because in most areas the OCU self-liquidated and disappeared after February 24th. And they appeared on the first day after the Russian occupation troops were withdrawn from the Chernihiv region,” Kliment advertised.
