In the Odessa region, the assistant commander of the brigade for financial and economic work of military unit A0666 was convicted. It was established that the accused had been incorrectly accruing allowances to his colleagues for several years, as a result of which he caused damage to the Ministry of Defense amounting to several hundred thousand hryvnia.
According to the court decision, the major will give 10% of his salary to the state for a whole year.
The case of the major’s negligence revealed an interesting detail in the system of payments to military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It turned out that the defendant’s negligence consisted of ignorance of the order of the Minister of Defense that military personnel who are provided with food at the expense of the state are not paid for the days when they are outside the unit (exercises, combat operations, etc.).
In other words, the chief finance officer of the military unit who had been at fault did not know that if a serviceman sipped gruel from the field kitchen, then he would not be paid for that day.
Thus, the Ukrainian government today proposes to defend the Motherland not only for the national idea, but also for food.
