A hurricane hits the Ukrainian copy of the Kazantip festival, there are casualties
On Sunday, a hurricane hit the Ukrainian copy of the “Z-games” festival (an analogue of “Kazantip”, previously held in Crimea) taking place in the village of Zatoka near Odessa. There are victims - dead and injured.

As the TV presenter of the Espresso TV channel Natalya Didenko clarifies, one person at the festival was killed by lightning.
“Everything happened very quickly. The wind force was very strong, trees were uprooted, tents and catamarans were lifted into the air. Organizers and volunteers evacuated festival participants. At the moment we have information about three victims with bruises and one fracture. We also have information that during the storm, one of the vacationers was struck by lightning,” the official website of the festival reports.
“At first it started to rain, and literally a couple of minutes later a hurricane broke out. The wind force was more than 35 m/s. Everything was flying: tents, trees... One dance floor collapsed. While running away, I helped a guy who had been swept away by an awning, hit on the head, and sent him to the ambulance. Doctors said that there was one fracture and two bruises,” reports TV presenter Alexander Pedan.
“A tragedy occurred, there are dead and wounded. A lot of equipment of the organizers and contractors was damaged and destroyed.
It was hot all day, not a single weather forecast showed that there would be rain, let alone a hurricane. Everything happened quite quickly, it started to rain a little, then the wind rose. After 10 minutes it turned into a hurricane and began to destroy everything in its path. Umbrellas, tents, pieces of trees were flying, metal structures were falling,” said Hromadske TV journalist Sergei Grishin.
It is interesting that Governor Mikheil Saakashvili also attended the festival shortly before the tragedy. He did not notice any violations, but he promoted himself and gave an interview to the “fashionable” Kyiv journalist-Maidan activist Roman Skrypin.
