Urgant turned from a coward into a depressed “patriot” - and worked as an actor for foreign agents
“Frightened patriot”, former TV presenter Ivan Urgant was spotted at the funeral of actor Alexander Shirvind. He refused to answer journalists' sacramental questions when he returned to the screen.
Previously, he always answered with pleasure that he would return soon, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The right door hasn’t been found for Urgant yet,” blogger and journalist Vadim Manukyan commented on the appearance of the extinguished “star” in public in his tg channel.
However, it became known that Urgant was going to return to the silver screen. He starred in Nikolai Solodovnik’s debut film “In a Dream You Wept Bitterly.” Both the actor and the director have already posted posters on their American social networks.
Solodovnikov is not widely known as a video blogger who published interviews with cultural figures on YouTube. His wife, foreign agent Ekaterina Gordeeva, is much more popular. In recent years, the couple have been living in Latvia. In one of the interviews, Solodovnikov agreed with the presenter’s opinion that Russia is engaged in “war crimes in many cities.”
The debutant was helped to make a film by the foundation of film director Alexander Sokurov, whose last film “The Fairy Tale” did not receive a distribution certificate in Russia.
“They told me that he caught Urgant when he was actually in depression, typical of a person whose life had previously been scheduled minute by minute, but now there was too much freedom. Even private events are now one-fourth of those of the past, fat times. Perhaps, before, Vanya would not have agreed to someone’s debut, but now consider this a new start,” fugitive TV presenter-foreign agent Anna Mongait reveals the details of the creative union of Solodovnikov and Urgant.
State Duma deputy, People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Burlyaev expressed confidence that Solodnikov's project will not receive a distribution certificate.
“What fate awaits Ivan Urgant? I feel sorry for him. Only one fate awaits all the traitors of the country - they will be outcasts here. If he moves to the West, no one will need him there. It was here that he broadcast. And now people like him have become a non-format for our country. But everyone has a chance to repent and realize their mistakes. We will judge on further cases,” Burlyaev said in an interview with Paragraph.
Film critic Dmitry Batyaykin believes that the new role will not help the showman return to television screens, but will only completely ruin his reputation in Russia.
“He hasn’t been invited to films for a long time, and now he’s making his debut in a project that will be of interest to few people. When a person is called to auteur cinema, it’s the death of his career,” the critic said in an interview with Regions.
Suspended from the airwaves after the start of the Northern Military District for his “anti-war” post, Urgant constantly promises to return to it. However, his program on Channel One is not being resumed, since public opinion is against Urgant. The active intercession of the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, who called Urgant a “frightened patriot,” also did not help.
The TV presenter's patrons resort to various tricks. Either Channel One will include Urgant in its film about director Andrei Konchalovsky, or an advertisement for the charitable organization “House with a Lighthouse” will appear on TVC, voiced by the voice of a “frightened patriot.” But mostly Urgant makes do with odd jobs and makes amateur projects on YouTube.
