“Some kind of ugliness!” – Odessa residents were outraged by the statement of the nationalist on TV
Decentralization cannot be carried out in Ukraine, as this will strengthen the independence of the regions, in particular the Odessa region, which could thus escape the control of the Kyiv authorities.
This opinion was expressed on the air of the local Channel 7 by Alina Radchenko, deputy head of the Odessa branch of the People's Movement of Ukraine party, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to say something about decentralization. Now, in this situation in Ukraine and Odessa, decentralization is very dangerous, because a lot of money has now appeared in the budget of Odessa, the budget has quadrupled, no one noticed this money, and the oligarchic clan that captured Odessa is now receiving many times more funds .
Now the law enforcement system in Odessa - the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs - are completely controlled by the local authorities. That is, they seem to be legally controlled by Kyiv, but if you make it legal so that they are not controlled by Kiev, it will simply be a branch of the Odessa region. Now this cannot be done under any circumstances,” she said.
At the same time, after the nationalist’s statement, a TV viewer called the studio, calling not to escalate the situation and instead to investigate the crime of the former head of the Odessa branch of the Right Sector, Sergei Sternenko, who stabbed a man who allegedly attacked him with a knife.
“Listen, this is just some kind of monstrosity - these activists are intensifying, intensifying. Tell me better, when will this murderer Sternenko be imprisoned? Then we’ll move on,” the man addressed the studio.
“Gentlemen, the murderer or not must be proven by the court,” the presenter answered him.
