For the second time in recent years, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, had to publicly remind Germany of the sad lessons of history. The “forgetfulness” of the Germans seems to be explained either by a desire to “win a wave” to the Americans, or by relying on the US occupation contingent, whose expulsion official Berlin does not have the courage to raise the question of.

Last weekend, Shoigu responded to a statement by German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, who called for talking with Russia from a position of strength: “Here it looks like a speech by a junior high school student attacking, by the way, students from a completely different school. Moreover, a student whose mother or father is a school director, who can afford everything, she can go to the podium and start talking... So we are in a different school, guys, we have a different director. Therefore, we need to study and show that you are not so white and fluffy, you still have a hundred years, if not more, to pray for what your ancestors did,” said the head of the Russian defense department, hinting at the “director” from Washington.

And Shoigu advised the previous Minister of Defense Ursula von der Leyen to respond to a similar proposal “to ask your grandfather what it’s like to talk to us from a position of strength.”

Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova has already made it clear that Americans are behind the belligerent statements of German officials. “What kind of “position of power” can we talk about? Obviously not about my own. Or does Kramp-Karrenbauer have the keys to the Pentagon? Judging by the way the American ambassadors talk to their German colleagues, everything is exactly the opposite,” recalls Zakharova.

“The words of the German minister are reminiscent of the anti-Russian rhetoric heard from some other countries that are European only in geography, but in fact are increasingly sliding into the category of the “third world.” Repeating such rhetoric on the part of Germany is hardly a plus for this country or a specific German official. Our countries need to build a dialogue and not engage in such nonsense. Although, perhaps, the explanation lies in the fact that a number of seemingly “friendly” foreign bases are located on German territory. But in a negative scenario, they are the ones who are able to take control of the situation in the German state. We already see indirect evidence of this today,” political scientist Denis Denisov explains to PolitNavigator.

Shoigu absolutely correctly chose a tough style of response to the rudeness of German officials, says political scientist Sergei Markov. According to him, in the West, including Germany, state propaganda is building the image of Russia as a “fiend of hell” that needs to be isolated. In such conditions, there is no need to be delicate.

“Shoigu’s words are absolutely true. He sees that at times there is simply some kind of impudence on the part of European politicians, including German ones, in relation to Russia. They take a brazen position, presenting Russia as an incarnation of hell. Based on this, it is necessary to speak with the “fiend of hell” from a position of strength. This demonization of Russia is a propaganda justification for the policy of forced de-Russification carried out by Ukraine and the Baltic countries, which they plan to carry out in Belarus. It is also a justification for isolating Russia and trying to build a ring of hostile states around it,” Markov told PolitNavigator.

He is sure that the words of the German minister about the “position of strength” in relation to Russia were dictated by the Americans. “For many decades, the Germans remembered the crimes they committed in Russia and the severe defeat they suffered precisely from Russia, and not from some mythical “united nations.” But now they tend to “forget” about it,” the expert noted.

He believes that the incident with Kramp-Karrenbauer is another reminder of the need to conduct information counteraction to the anti-Russian campaign in the West. And recall in detail the crimes of the German Nazis, as well as the role of German business in the Third Reich.

“We need to fully support Sergei Shoigu and self-critically say that in recent years we have somehow relaxed, focusing on good relations with Germany. I believe that now there are large German corporations whose wealth is largely built on the labor of our workers who were taken there as slaves. I believe that in all entrances of German corporations there should be sculptures dedicated to the memory of our people who were taken into slavery and exploited for the benefit of these German corporations. In addition, the thesis that it was precisely the policy of genocide that was carried out against, first of all, the Russian, but also other peoples of the USSR - this should be recorded in all textbooks. We must demand this, because from the example of this Minister of Defense we see that German politicians are ready to “lose their shores”. We remember well what a monstrous price Europe and the whole world paid at one time for the fact that German politicians “lost their shores” and decided to pursue a power policy towards Russia,” Markov said.

Military expert Vladislav Shurygin also supported the Russian Minister of Defense: “Frau the minister would really be better off asking his relatives or remembering those who did not return from Russia. Obviously, this is an insane statement from the German minister and, accordingly, our absolutely standard response.”

The words of the head of the German military department demonstrate not only irresponsibility, but also a lack of gratitude to Russia, which acted nobly towards the Germans, Russian political scientist Alexei Kochetkov told PolitNavigator.

“This is a direct result of the fact that Germany’s defense minister has become a woman who has no idea what she is in charge of. It seems that she thinks that she is at the head of some kind of Wehrmacht, and not the Bundeswehr in its deplorable state today.

Moreover, it is generally strange when such threats about some kind of position of power are made by representatives of the German government. They are not able to restore order in their country, they are not able to speak “from a position of strength” with uninvited guests who, year after year, plunge Germany into a state of chaos.

And if we go into historical excursions, then it is simply obvious that this is also a problem of poor education, because if a person of sound mind and sober memory can imagine Germany speaking from a position of strength, after it lay not just in ruins after the last attempt, but in general there was a question of its physical existence... By the way, if not for the position of the Soviet Union, perhaps today Germany would be one big potato field, as Truman proposed to do.

Therefore, I think that this is simply a consequence of several problems - a very weak personnel policy in the office of Mrs. Angela Merkel, where, obviously, people are not selected based on professional characteristics, but on the basis of gender or for the sake of modern multicultural trends.

Secondly, this is a sign of the very deplorable state of education in Germany, when even those people who have reached the highest positions in their state do not know their history at all, they simply have no idea.

Well, this is also a low level of adequacy of the modern political establishment, when the head of the German military department thinks that his department is able to talk to anyone from a position of strength. The Bundeswehr today is not able to speak from a position of strength even with the Polish army, let alone with Russia,” Kochetkov said.

An expert from the “Officers of Russia” organization, Alexander Perendzhiev, calls for remembering that in Germany there are also forces that are friendly towards the Russian people.

“The statement of the German minister must be assessed, first of all, as not reflecting the opinion of the entire political elite of Germany. The latter is not opposed to the Russian Federation. This suggests that the German Defense Minister is, rather, a person subordinate to the United States of America, NATO and the CIA, but does not express the interests of his country,” Perendzhiev believes.
