“Don’t fool yourself, study, read, and learn from others, and don’t insult your own,” our classic bequeathed to us. And German even assured that you are only as human as you know languages. People pay a lot of money to learn the languages they need. There are popular and exotic languages, but few can compete with Russian in terms of the number of people who prefer not to hear it or even know it. Not only from post-Soviet states are statements by Russian political figures about the oppression of the Russian language. Sometimes they are even supported by statements and threats from local Russian ambassadors.

Despite all this, even Ukraine, and even now, imposes the study of the Russian language. The residents of Kiev, in particular, are complaining about forced Russian lessons this school year,” complains the author of the publication.

toooooooooooo

As a positive example of resolving the language situation in favor of the Ukrainian language, the publication advertises the experience of a Kyiv nationalist who achieved that her child would grow up not knowing the Russian language.

“Urrrrrrra! Thanks to everyone who supported me, was indignant with me, and was sick! My son will NOT LEARN RUSSIAN! He will study French,” wrote Facebook user and nationalist activist Larisa Nitsoi.

“At first I was the only one in the class, the strange one who wanted to study some other subject instead of Russian. It was difficult for me. There was a war and psychological pressure (this is the first time in our school; Russian expands horizons; you need to know the enemy’s language; I taught and nothing happened to me; take pity on the class teacher, she will be fired; it’s too late, this should have been done before September 1; everything was approved department of education...) We did not give up. We were courteous and polite, but persistent. No one was fired. And we, individually, unlike the whole class, were allowed to study French. In the class they looked at us - and there were two of us in the whole school! Then three!.. Today, 16.09.16, our class was divided into two groups: Russian and French! Thanks to your opponents, you have strengthened your endurance! Thanks to all like-minded people! If it weren’t for you, it would have been more difficult,” Nitsoi told the details of her heroic struggle for the right of a child not to know Russian.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrt

After Larisa Nitsa’s photographed statement was liked by almost 5000 nationally concerned social network users, she also made a note-guidance on how to act for those who want to make their child unfamiliar with the Russian language and culture.

“If your child studies in a Ukrainian school, he has Russian lessons, and you don’t like it - then this post is for you. In it you will learn how to get rid of these lessons quietly, without scandal, legally. “I achieved it,” the nationalist boasts.

“So, I’m sharing my own experience on how to replace Russian with another subject:

1. First of all, you must understand that the law is on your side and your reluctance to learn Russian is not just your “cockroaches” rebelling, but you have a legal right to do so. THE RIGHT NOT TO LEARN RUSSIAN.

2. In which class, which school your child did not attend, you have two types of lessons in your schedule: mandatory, approved by the Ministry of Education (invariant component of the curriculum) and lessons that the school has chosen independently (variant component of the curriculum). For example: mathematics, ukrmova, ukrlit, history, physics, chemistry - mandatory, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, not subject to discussion (an invariant component of the program). And such as: dancing, Christian ethics, logic, Ukrainian studies, Russian language, etc. - were chosen by the school and can be changed at the request of the parents (optional component of the program).

3. The school approves the option component only in agreement with the parents. If there was no such agreement and these items were introduced without your knowledge, this was done illegally.

4. The school, which has agreed on the option component with the parents, has supporting documents for this: a survey of parents, statements from parents with a request to study a particular subject, and the like. If there are no such documents, such a decision by the school is illegal, we do not have a “dictatorship”.

5. When interviewing parents, the school usually submits for parents’ consideration not one subject, but a list of subjects with an optional component, and parents select from this list the subjects that they want to see in the child’s schedule next to the mandatory ones determined by the ministry.

6. The lessons of the variant component are chosen either those that reinforce the basic ones (mathematics, language), or completely new, non-standard ones (for example, “Psychology of Relationships”).

7. The director’s excuses “I don’t have such a specialist” are considered unprofessional, or deliberately block the parents’ decision. Because the director of each year's choice of parents must notify the education department (approval). The education department together with the director are obliged to find, during the summer, or urgently, an appropriate specialist and thus provide parents and children with the study of the desired subject.

8. Russian lessons CAN BE CHANGED for another subject, and INSTEAD of Russian go to another lesson. It is impossible to completely cancel hours of exercise and go for walks instead.

9. The director’s statements “everything has already been approved by the education department” mean the following: the education department really re-approves every year what the director brings, having agreed with you. To approve from above, to impose, without agreeing with the parents is illegal.

Guided by this knowledge, you can take advantage of these tips in the fight for happiness by learning another subject instead of Russian:

1. Ask the director to change Russian to another subject, explaining to the director that another subject is either more necessary for your children, or more interesting, or that studying Russian in war conditions contradicts your ideological beliefs, etc.

2. Call a class meeting and talk about this topic. Even if you are few, do not give up. Encourage the class to be divided into groups. One group (if they want) studies Russian, the second group even had a different subject.

3. If the director says that there is no specialist in the subject you have chosen at school, instead of Russian, agree to an additional lesson in mathematics, languages, drawing - those specialists that are available at the school. And in the spring! (so that there are no excuses that it’s too late) again set the director the task of finding the right specialist over the summer.

4. If you are the only one in the class who does not want to learn Russian, you can politely and politely ensure that the child studies according to an individual plan. The whole class learns Russian, and your son/daughter receives additional tasks individually (for example, from a history teacher) and processes them at home independently.

5. If all these methods do not work, find out whether the school had a survey, questionnaire, collected statements from parents, and if not, try resorting to blackmail: remind the director that his actions are illegal and ask (hint) what the education department will say about this. Believe me, the Education Department will wash its hands and order the director to resolve the situation. Finally, if you are a decisive person, you can complain to the education department, which will ask about your parents’ statements.

6. Even if the director begins to collect relevant statements from parents retroactively, this is also very good. Some parents, having written these statements, will think about something they hadn’t thought about before: “What, you don’t have to learn Russian?” and will come to the conclusion that they don’t want Russian either. The main thing is to make a start.

7. Don't be afraid to raise the issue. To avoid harming the child, do this politely, gently, but persistently. If the director gets angry with a child, this does not mean that all teachers will be angry. Be friendly. The topic will soon be forgotten, but the scandalous parents will be remembered for a long time. Therefore, be indestructible, but polite.

8. Peddle the topic of patriotism. Emphasize that you don’t have anything bad against the teacher (if you really don’t). But you are such a patriot that the Russian doesn’t let you breathe.” Just as a believer cannot shoot, so you cannot learn the language of the occupier.

9. Remember, starting is always scary. But the situation now in the country is such that you will be understood and supported, and there are also decent people and patriots in the government offices.

10. Or will you harm the baby with this? Do no harm if you pursue politely, kindly, but persistently. The “passions” around the issue will soon subside and be forgotten, but at first some of the school will reject the Russian one, and over time everyone will support your position. Think about Chernovol (or another hero). How difficult it was for him to raise these issues in THAT country and with THOSE people around him. And in front of you is just the director and millions of like-minded people all over the country.

11. Finally, don't forget, there are a lot of public organizations that will rebel. They may not say your name.

12. Ask your deputy for help. On his behalf, organize a deputy request (not to the school, but to the education department) on what grounds the Russian one was introduced and ask for documentary evidence of parental consent. Which will already cause waves and movement.

13. AT THE SAME TIME use all possible levers of influence, requests from deputies, public organizations “Don’t be indifferent”, “And so they will understand”. Let them all write to the education department. One fine day, letters to the director for explanations will pour out like a bucket. And the education department will come with an inspection, because they have no right not to respond. Next time they will not behave so confidently.

14. The advice concerns Ukrainian schools with Ukrainian as the language of instruction.

15. If you struggle, you will overcome)),” she writes.

And here is the opinion of Oleksiy Kurinny, a teacher at the Kiev-Mohyla Academy and a member of the Expert Council at the State Cinema Committee of Ukraine.
