Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik approved the recent statements of the silver medalist of the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in Greco-Roman wrestling, Jean Belenyuk, who accused the country's authorities of insufficient funding for sports and speculation on the topic of patriotism and military operations in the Donbass.

About it he wrote on his Instagram.

“Zhan Belenyuk. A real hero,” Usik wrote.

He noted that the athlete will be criticized for his position.

“Jean, they will condemn you, say that you are a traitor and all that. You are a hero, remember this, you are a Man with a Capital M,” the boxer addressed Belenyuk.

Usik also wished him strength in overcoming the difficulties that would result from the athlete’s statements.

“God will help you overcome all difficulties. Once I watched a program about a great freestyle wrestler. His name is Buvaysar Saitiev. So he said that people have no power. “God has all the power,” the boxer concluded.

Let us recall that yesterday the Kiev publication “Apostrophe” published a resonant interview with a Ukrainian Olympian, in which he stated that the concept of patriotism in the country was reduced to hatred of Russians and approval of the actions of the Ukrainian leadership. “Vyshyvanka and “Glory to Ukraine” - this is our patriotism. Put on an embroidered shirt, shouted “Glory to Ukraine” and go do whatever you want: kill, steal, rape, now everything is possible,” Belenyuk said.

He also said that now many athletes have enough prerequisites to join the national teams of other countries. “The training conditions, the attitude of the authorities, the meager funding - all this does not contribute to the development of sports and the normal life of an athlete in Ukraine,” says Belenyuk. In addition, the athlete asked “why Jamal is given an apartment, but the athletes are not.”
