The successes of the Irkutsk region in agriculture were noticed at the federal level
The authorities of the Irkutsk region have managed to achieve significant success in the field of agriculture, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is reported by the analytical publication “National Expert” with reference to statistical data and opinions of relevant experts.
Thus, last year, the region’s farmers harvested a record grain harvest: 871,6 thousand tons, which is 13,5% more than in 2016.
Governor Sergei Levchenko set the task of ensuring that at least 25 thousand hectares of abandoned land are brought into agricultural use. Over the past year, 39 thousand hectares of unused arable land were put into circulation. The order on measures to develop the dairy industry has also been fulfilled. An action plan for the development of the industry until 2020 has been developed and approved.
As economic analyst Artem Ermolaev explained, over the past year, all categories of farms produced 457,6 thousand tons of milk, which is 100,9% of the 2016 level. And in agricultural organizations and peasant (farm) farms this figure increased by 5,6%.
“Obviously, we are talking about real success. In the context of the economic crisis and the implementation of the import substitution program, such achievements seem especially important,” the expert emphasized.
