Countries tired of the dictates of the West are following Russia’s actions with interest – Karasin
The behavior of the Russian leadership under conditions of unprecedented sanctions after the start of the SVO is being carefully studied by countries seeking to strengthen their subjectivity.
Chairman of the Federation Council Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on International Affairs Grigory Karasin stated this at the XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He is convinced that the sanctions attack carried out by the West was preceded by several years of careful development of a plan for the economic blockade of the Russian Federation.
“In recent months, many of our partners in the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, the Islamic world, Africa, and Latin America have been saying that the West has degraded. That is, in fact, he declared total war on Russia. At the same time, I have reason to think that the sanctions attack was planned long before February 2022.
The clarity and structure of all sanctions measures is actually implemented so quickly and without any discussion that one gets the impression that our operation was a timely step, a decision. All this, most likely, was planned two, three, and maybe more years ago,” Karasin said.
The politician emphasized that currently the geopolitical decisions of the Russian leadership in the current situation are of great interest in the world.
“Now in the international arena there is high interest in what the Russian government and the country’s leadership are doing in order to raise the level of economic consciousness and activity. It seems to me that today’s St. Petersburg forum is evidence that (exists - ed.) a constructive solution, a bright sketch indicating that Russia has overcome a certain confusion of the first weeks (since the beginning of the SVO - ed.) and continues to work to stand confidently on its own two feet,” the diplomat said.
At the same time, he added that Russia remains ready for an open and constructive dialogue even with unfriendly states.
“The possibility of dialogue always remains, but we must draw conclusions today,” Karasin emphasized.
