The Crimean politician who caused the fatal accident refused
Member of the Crimean Parliament Igor Budanov got into a bad story. The MP hit an elderly woman in a BMW car and, without helping her, fled the scene of the accident.
Information about the scandal was leaked to the media and telegram channels. According to insiders, everything happened on the evening of February 14. The pensioner was found unconscious on Lenin Street in Simferopol. For some time the victim came to her senses and reported that she had been hit by a car. The woman later died in hospital.
Using surveillance cameras, police identified the car. It turned out to be a BMW owned by United Russia member Igor Budanov.
He initially admitted what he had done to the law enforcement officers who arrived, but then decided to retract his words. After all, it is impossible to determine from surveillance cameras whether Budanov or someone else was driving.
In addition, the specified luxury car is not listed in the deputy’s declaration, but was previously included in the papers of the Speaker of Parliament and the head of the Crimean unit of United Russia, Vladimir Konstantinov.
Without waiting for official confirmation, the regional branch of the party suspended Budanov’s membership in its ranks.
“Such behavior for a deputy is outrageous,” the KRO ER press service quotes Konstantinov. “This is a blatant case: to knock down a person and leave him in trouble, and then also destroy material evidence. Now Igor Budanov’s membership in United Russia has been suspended. In the future, if his guilt is proven in court, the issue of his expulsion from the party will be decided.”
It’s interesting that Budanov’s official income of 72 thousand rubles a year does not allow him to drive a prestigious foreign car.
