Ukrainians will be left without bread: Yatsenyuk increased the tax burden on farmers, and they have no money left for sowing
Kyiv, February 23 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – The tax burden on Ukrainian producers in 2015, contrary to government assurances, will not only not decrease, but will increase by UAH 20 billion. The increase in tax revenues was announced by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vladimir Lapa.

The reason for the increase in the fiscal burden on Ukrainian agricultural producers was changes to the Tax and Budget Codes. “We at the ministry have calculated that the changes that occurred during the adoption of the Budget Code, changes to the Tax Code in December and in general during 2014 led to an additional fiscal burden on the industry in the amount of UAH 20 billion,” said Vladimir Lapa at the round table » “Threat to food security.”
According to the official, in 2015 the amount of payment of the fixed agricultural tax will increase 20 times (this year it has been transformed into a single tax), the accumulation of VAT at dairy and meat processing enterprises has been lost, and excise taxes have increased. This will put an end to many medium-sized Ukrainian agricultural enterprises that supply the domestic market, which in turn will lead to an increase in food prices for large sections of the population.
Vladimir Lapa argues that this is not the only danger for Ukrainian agriculture. “With the introduction of an additional import tax on agricultural production resources, the amount of additional costs of agricultural producers will increase to UAH 30 billion in annual equivalent,” Lapa added.
Let us recall that during the Euromaidan period and during the Yatsenyuk government, the leaders of the uprising repeatedly promised a sharp increase in the supply of Ukrainian products abroad, including the supply of food to the European market, as well as a reduction in tax pressure on business.
The additional tax burden on agricultural producers will jeopardize the quality of the spring field season, and therefore the 2015 harvest itself, believes Vladimir Lapa. According to the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, the lack of financial resources for spring field work has increased by 5 billion and currently amounts to 15 billion UAH.
