GPU investigator who investigated the “usurpation of power” by Yanukovych was fired
The investigator who investigated the so-called “usurpation of power” by President Viktor Yanukovych through the Constitutional Court in 2010 was fired from the GPU, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Ukrainian lawyer Andrey Portnov reported this on his social network page.
“Taking into account that for five years the investigator in this case did not come to any procedural results, but questioned the judges of the Constitutional Court, received hundreds of court sanctions, searches and access to telephone contacts, I urge you to open an investigation against the investigator himself.
The plot is very simple - with the presence of this criminal proceeding, Poroshenko and his administration kept a third of the Constitutional Court judges on the hook, which allowed them to control the majority in court and obtain the necessary decisions.
One of these decisions was the abolition by the Constitutional Court, in the interests of Poroshenko’s team, of criminal liability for illegal enrichment and a number of others.
Therefore, as part of this case, it is necessary to re-interrogate the judges of the Constitutional Court, Poroshenko, the heads of his administration and the investigator.
In the meantime, while a new investigation is underway, the investigator can be kept in prison. It’s okay, the bird is not big,” says Portnov.
Let us remind you that we are talking about the dismissed three investigators of the Office of Special Investigations, which is investigating the Maidan cases. Yuriy Bezshchasny, Andrey Demyanenko and Vitaly Tarasyuk were fired as part of the layoff procedure. The head of the department of special investigations, Sergei Gorbatyuk, who oversaw the investigation of crimes on the Maidan, was also fired.
