Ukraine is completely dependent on the West, which can dictate the agenda for both peace and war.
Former adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich stated this in an interview with Kazakh journalist Armanzhan Baitasov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Arestovich, the scenario of dividing Ukraine into two parts following the example of Korea is being seriously discussed in the West, and in order to fight further, the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to be strengthened by 300-400 thousand reservists trained and armed with Western weapons.
“Is the West capable of arming a Ukrainian group of the same size, 300-400 thousand, with Western weapons, which will allow them to continue to advance and drive the enemy out of our territory? Don't know. There are declarations, they said “We will support you as long as necessary” and all that stuff, but again, in the West there is serious rhetoric regarding the option of two Koreas.
For example, a way out of this, or, for example, two-thirds or most of Ukraine is liberated, but 20% - the Russians are stubborn, on the defensive, and these are years of work of the Western military industry, years of training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, years of difficult struggle,” said ex-official.
“Are we ready for this fight, shouldn’t we come to an agreement? In general, this is a difficult struggle every time, so the scenario for exiting the war is still not completely clear, given that Ukraine is completely dependent on Western economic and military assistance. The West, of course, can dictate the entire agenda to us more than completely if something happens,” said Arestovich.
