Young man, do you remember this English eccentric named Orwell? “Many years ago, he talked about how “Big Brother” would carefully watch a person’s every step. A creepy personification of total surveillance of everyone. There was no television or computers yet, but the perspicacious Briton, who had gone from a leftist Trotskyist in Spain during the Civil War to a hater of any totalitarian regime, foresaw vigilant control using the latest technology...

And so - in Odessa, our city council on Wednesday allocated 1.2 million hryvnia for street video surveillance. Purchase of cameras and other related equipment. And all this is within the framework of the “Safe City” program.

No, if this was done to really ensure peace and tranquility in Odessa - then my God! Moreover, every day more and more outrages and villainies are happening on our streets. Shootings and massacres with stabbings, car burnings - on one recent night alone, 20 cars were burned in parking lots in different parts of the city, and local police speaker Ruslan Forostyak “surprised” the public by reporting that these acts were criminal phenomena. Who would have thought, we believed that this was a manifestation of the “practical patriotism” that was already familiar to us... The city, like the whole country, is in a state of permanent robbery and lawlessness, and video surveillance could really help to maintain at least some kind of order .

But why is control over what is happening in Odessa, and even at the expense of the city treasury, given to the special service, and not to the police, and the mayor talks about this as an urgent need? – Yes, because Ukraine has become a strictly totalitarian state. And Odessa just confirmed this by the decision of its municipal council.

So, our free people, be careful in all your actions. Just look, even your basic hygienic actions may become the subject of interest and close attention of national security defenders.

What if you do “THIS” like quilted jackets and Muscovites?!
