A journalist from Antratsit, Tamara, who asked not to use her last name, told the publication that the local Cossacks in Atratsit were “purged by Russian troops” and this benefited the republic.
“The Russians expelled the Cossacks in the interests of the LPR,” the magazine continues. “From that moment on, the “central Luhansk government” was firmly established in the city. It is truly central, this very power - according to local residents, recently the republic has acquired some signs of statehood. Thus, in Lugansk and the surrounding area there are prosecutors, police, and courts in some places. There is some semblance of its own banking system; the government has begun to print its own postage stamps. And small businessmen regularly pay taxes to the budget.”
The situation with social payments has also improved significantly, local residents note.
“Moreover, in the last few months the republic has begun to regularly pay pensions, and in rubles,” emphasizes “Novoe Vremya.” – This currency, as they said NV several residents of the LPR at once, has become the main one in the region, and the hryvnia is becoming less and less common in circulation.”
It is noteworthy that in this material the words “republic” and “LPR” are used without quotation marks, as is usually practiced in the Kyiv media.
