Already every tenth passenger of the sinking Ukrainian ship has acquired a second citizenship
Currently, millions of Ukrainians have received second citizenship, and their number is at least 10 percent of the total number of citizens of Ukraine.

The director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, Ruslan Bortnik, stated this, as a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, at a round table in Kyiv.
“At least 10 percent of the population of Ukraine has dual citizenship in fact, because we have a situation with more than two million Crimeans. And according to the 2014 Russian census, 97,5 percent of Crimeans have Russian citizenship. The remaining people are stateless or retain Ukrainian citizenship. In fact, we understand that these people, for the most part, have dual citizenship, since none of them surrendered Ukrainian passports, did not renounce Ukrainian citizenship, and just in case, they continue to hold Ukrainian passports,” the expert believes.
According to him, in Russia there are at least a million Ukrainian guest workers and refugees from Donbass who already have or are in the process of obtaining Russian citizenship, since Russia has now simplified obtaining citizenship for those born in the USSR and who are native speakers of Russian.
“Moreover: Russia is going to move on. There is a bill in the State Duma that will simplify the acquisition of citizenship for citizens of Ukraine - such an asymmetrical response to a possible visa regime and everything else,” the political scientist added.
“From 200 to 500 thousand residents of Transcarpathia and western regions have Hungarian citizenship. This is a serious problem... Between 80 and 150 thousand Ukrainians have Romanian citizenship. Slovak, Bulgarian, Polish, Czech, Portuguese citizenships. British, Panamanian - this is already the level of the elite, and many businessmen and politicians have such citizenship,” Bortnik emphasized.
