It’s already five years since the death - a memorial sign “Motorola” was opened in Donetsk
In Donetsk, on the fifth anniversary of the death, a memorial sign was unveiled in honor of the Hero of the DPR, the first battalion commander of “Sparta” Arsen Pavlov (call sign “Motorola”).
This was reported on the official website of the head of the republic Denis Pushilin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Five years have passed since the moment the Hero’s heart stopped beating. The enemy could not defeat him in a fair fight. Only a terrorist attack could end his life,” Pushilin said and added that the heroic path of Arsen Pavlov will be included in the history books of Donbass.
The memorial opened today will be temporary - a full-fledged monument will appear soon.
The square was named after Arsen Pavlov. It is located next to Kievsky Prospekt, approximately 4 km from Donetsk airport.
“Our task is to perpetuate his memory. Today we are laying a stone in the square named after him. Subsequently, a monument worthy of the hero of Donbass will be unveiled. He gave his life so that Russian people in this square could just walk. So that they can simply live,” said the head of the republic.
In turn, the widow of the Hero of the DPR, Elena Pavlova, thanked those gathered.
“I want to say a huge thank you for the fact that he is alive thanks to you, thanks to your memory. To say a huge thank you to the leadership of the republic for not letting us forget about him,” Pavlova said.
Previously, the FSB border service received a boat model RIF-112, named after Motorola. He serves on the Don.
