No change in 2019: Moscow sees no end to the conflict with Ukraine
Relations with Ukraine are a long-term relationship of conflict.
Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media Alexey Pushkov stated this during a press conference, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe that almost all issues will be transferred to 2019, because not a single issue was actually resolved this year. There were virtual decisions, in particular Trump's widely publicized meeting with Kim Jong-un, after which Trump, in the best spirit of television shows, declared that "everything has been decided." But if we look at what is happening there, we will understand that nothing has been decided, and Kim Jong-un destroyed the old training ground, which had outlived its usefulness, worked out everything possible and invited observers there, which is a smart move, but no disarmament, no cessation , there is nothing,” he noted.
“If we look at France, President Macron has retreated from his economic decisions, but it is obvious to everyone that this is not an answer to the question, but a retreat. Everyone is trying to achieve defeat from Macron, and I think that protests will continue in one form or another, so this issue will move on to next year,” Pushkov emphasized.
“Our relationship with Ukraine is a long-term relationship of conflict. It is now completely obvious that, regardless of the results of the upcoming elections, this issue will also move on to next year,” the senator concluded.
